Reversible pumpkin craft [recycled]

Materials Used:
  1. 2 orange paints
  2. 1 yellow paint
  3. 1 black paint
  4. brushes
  5. green paper strips
  6. Freschetta pizza cardboard circle [but can cut your own circle if you don't have this]
  7. (if making the pirate) tissue box opening cardboard piece (eye patch) [but you can cut your own shape if you don't have this]
  8. white cardstock [can use yellow or black paper though if you have it--less painting=easier]
  9. Scissors, newspaper (to lay down)
  10. hot glue or elmers glue
  11. ribbon for hanging
  12. suction cup hook (for hanging on window) see them hereSuper colorful suction hooks (48 for $5.50)

 1

Cut out two large triangle and two smaller triangles to fit inside the bigger two
(if using colored paper already, cut out two large black triangles and two smaller yellow triangles to fit inside) and cut a large and small triangle shape for your nose as well!

NOTE: IF MAKING THE PIRATE YO WILL ONLY NEED 4 TOTAL TRIANGLES: TWO FOR THE EYE AND TWO FOR THE NOSE. WILL NEED TO CUT A PIECE FOR THE EYE PATCH AND STRAPS.

 2
Paint your big triangles black (will give the glowing eyes and nice border when done)
paint your smaller triangles yellow

 3
cut an imperfect mouth shape (if using colored paper cut it from the yellow paper)

 4

then cut out a slightly larger one by placing your cut out on top of another piece of your paper (if using colored paper, place yellow cutout on top of black paper and cut around the yellow one to make a slightly larger mouth outline)

 5
paint your bigger mouth black and the smaller one yellow (if making the pirate paint your eye patch and cut strips to be the strap and paint)...and let all that is painted dry completely.

 6
Glue on your facial features & stem and leaves. I mirrored where I put the stem on the first pumpkin i made so that it created one stem and looked 'right' from both sides (as you can see only one stem in the picture below). *Glue on ribbon ends in between the two sided stem.

What I love about this is that if you choose to hang yours in a window, one face can always be seen from the inside and one from the outside!

If you choose to hang it on a wall or a door, you can switch the face that you want to show whenever you'd like. Kind of fun, huh!?

What do you think!!?
