1. Materials
Needed: Hot glue gun, Black felt, Pink thing foam sheet (or felt...I had foam
so that is what I used), two hair clips, scissors.
2. Cut out the
shape and size ears you want from your black felt. Cut out a shape to go inside
of your black ear, from the pink foam (or felt) leaving a good amount of black
to still be seen behind it [this is the inner ear].
LINE THEM UP AND
SNIP A SMALL LINE AT THE BOTTOM center (with them together)--this is where they
will be crisscrossed to make them 'POP' out.
3. Crisscross
them/bend the flaps over each other to see how you want them glued. Then glue
the black felt ear first. ONE FLAP OVER THE OTHER--WHERE IT WAS SNIPPED. Should
give you that cone shape when you flip it over.
4. Hot glue the
flaps of the pink one next. ONE FLAP OVER THE OTHER--WHERE IT WAS SNIPPED. Should
give you that cone shape when you flip it over.
glue the pink inside the black one.
5. Cut a piece of
black felt to cover your hair clip. DOESN'T have to look perfect (because it’s
not noticeable once in your hair (at least not if you have dark hair like mine
and are making dark ears) hot glue it over your clip--(make a little longer on
the ends so that your clips tips don’t show, if your clip is lighter colored
like mine is)
6. Then round off
the end of your 'almost finished' ears by taking scissors to scallop the end
(compare picture 4 to picture 6) without cutting too close to the glued fold. Then
hot glue on your clip!
NOW GO PUT YOUR CAT EARS & MAKE UP ON AND YOU ARE READY TO GO!
