Slow Cooker Sweet Glazed Pork Chops [Tried & True-ly Yummy!]

Slow Cooker Sweet Glazed Pork Chops [Tried & True-ly Yummy!]

If you like Chops you should give these Slow Cooker Sweet Glazed Pork Chops a try!

Thought that this way of cooking good ol' Pork Chops was quite nice and pretty yummy!
After they come out of the crock pot they can almost look burnt, but just realize that its the dark color of the jelly and chili sauce its been soaking in, so don't get scared ;)  After trimming the fat...all you do is toss in with the few ingredients...and ya let the crock pot get to work for you!!

Slow Cooker Sweet Glazed Pork Chops

Ingredients:

4-6 boneless pork chops (mine were pretty thick)
1 (12 oz) bottle chili sauce
1 cup grape jelly

Directions:
Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Place pork chops at the bottom. In a bowl, mix together the chili sauce and the jelly; pour on top of pork chops. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours (do 8 hours if your pork chops are frozen) or HIGH for 3-4 hours (I prefer the low and slow method for these).

Cheesy Chicken & Wild Rice Casserole [Tried & True-ly Yummy!]

Cheesy Chicken & Wild Rice Casserole [Tried & True-ly Yummy!]

I made this Cheesy Chicken & Wild Rice Casserole a couple months ago. Went over very well at the table ;) An easy pleasing meal that I would consider in the 'comfort food' category. Simple enough to make also!

Note: I used dried ingredients for the onion & garlic--always have to be more quick and extra watchful when adding those to oil in a pan to saute...because they will burn! So be careful if using these too ;)

Cheesy Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole

3 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 medium onion, finely diced
3 stalks celery, finely diced
3 carrots, peeled and diced
2 Tablespoons fresh minced garlic
2 Cups shredded, cooked chicken breast
2 Cups steamed white rice
16 oz prepared wild rice (I get mine at Trader Joes, LOVE it)
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
______
CHEESE SAUCE
4 Tablespoons butter
1/4 Cup all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 Cups chicken broth
2 Cups shredded cheddar cheese
Top with 1 1/2 Cups shredded cheddar cheese
1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Heat oil into a medium dutch oven or pot over medium heat.  Saute onion, celery and carrots until softened, about 10 minutes.  Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.  Stir in chicken, both rices, salt, pepper and garlic salt.  Reduce heat to low.
2.  To prepare cheese sauce melt butter into a medium saucepan over medium high heat.  Whisk in flour, salt and pepper then slowly pour in chicken broth whisking continuously.  Whisk until thick and nearly boiling then stir in cheese until melted.  Pour cheese sauce into cooked rice mixture then transfer to a 9×13 inch baking dish. Top with additional cheddar cheese and bake for 25-30 minutes or until cheese is melted through.  Serve.

Naughty Corn Bread

Naughty Corn Bread (best ever!)

This is absolutely scrumptious! my sister in law brought some of this to our house after boy #2 was born. My husband and I just devoured it! This Naughty Corn Bread is a must eat, sure to please, 'must share' recipe. for sure :D

Naughty Cornbread
Source: Our Best Bites
Ingredients:
1 yellow cake mix
2 Jiffy cornbread mixes
Oil, milk, and eggs according to package directions from ALL packages
 Instructions:
Preheat oven according to directions on cake mix box. Combine cake mix and cornbread mixes in a large bowl. Add eggs, oil, and milk according to package directions (replace all water with milk). Mix together according to cake mix directions.
Now…this makes a lot of cornbread, and if it were easy to half it, I would. However, I never trust myself to accurately cut a cake mix in half, so I just make all the cornbread and then freeze the leftovers. I like to make 1 pan of muffins (12) and 1 9×13″ pan of cornbread, for no other reason than it fits into my oven all at the same time. You could also do a 9×13″ pan and an 8×8″ or 9×9″ pan; it’s all up to you. Just bake according to cake mix directions (about 20 minutes for muffins or 30 minutes for a 9×13 pan”)
NOTE: I USED A 9X13 PAN AND COOKED IT FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES...SO JUST WATCH YOURS...THE MIDDLE WASNT NEAR DONE AT 30 MINUTES.

Gerber baby food lids (recycled) Matching Game!

Gerber baby food lids (recycled) Matching Game!

Gerber baby food lids (recycled) Matching Game!

Started collecting these lids around the beginning of 2014 (last year). When you have little ones, it seems as if there can never be too many jars in your cupboards! When I saw just how stinkin' cute these little critters were I had to find a way to re-use them!! So...because I just was getting more and more each week...I decided matching was the way to go! Just kept track of which ones I had before I left to the store the next time...and tried to find the ones I needed still (one or both of the doggy, etc...) My oldest (3 1/2) loves to match and stack them...and my 2 year old loves to dump them out of the container and "clean-up!, Clean-up!" or toss them in baskets and carry them around ;)

And if you didn't notice, their is even a reindeer one at the top of the picture. So I made an Ornament with it!! I will put that picture up soon to show ya!!

Hope your little ones will enjoy this too!
